SBI Medical Officer Exam Pattern 2019 

The SBI Clerk Prelims Exam pattern is shown as below. This year SBI has introduced the sectional timing in Prelims exam. Now you cannot switch between the sections. Also, 0.25 marks will be deducted for each wrong answer.

SBI Medical officer Syllabus 2019

SBI has not officially thrown any light on the syllabus. However, by analysing the exam pattern and recent trends of exams conducted by SBI and IBPS, our experts have predicted the SBI Clerk Syllabus for Prelims exam 2018 along with mark distribution.

The SBI Clerk Prelims 2018 consist of mainly 3 subjects:

Reading Comprehension

• Weightage: 10 Qs (likely 1 passage of 10 questions, including 4-5 questions on vocabulary)
• Scoring, Easy to Solve, High Accuracy Possible
• Question Type: Moral Stories in Indian Context, Banking and Economy, Business, Social Issues.Vocabulary based questions include synonyms, antonyms and meanings of phrases.Theme and main idea based questions like tone/ style/ title/ theme of the passage.

Fill in the Blanks

• Weightage: 0-5 Qs
• Scoring, Easy to Solve, High Accuracy Possible
• Question Type: Double blanks (Two blanks in one sentence). Could be grammar based or vocabulary based. Vocab based tests knowledge of words. Fairly easy as they can be understood from the context of the sentence. Grammar based tests knowledge of tenses, prepositions, conjunctions, verbs to mention a few.

Cloze Test

• Weightage: 5 Qs (1 passage with 5 blanks)
• Scoring, Moderately Time Consuming, High Accuracy Possible
• Question Type: 
• Passage could be on any topic, but special emphasis is given on stories.
• Words are usually easy to moderate but keep your eyes open for that tough word.
• Understanding of the context will help you score easily. Sometimes the blank might require a word that will test the knowledge of grammar.

 Error Spotting

• Weightage: 10 Qs
• Moderately Scoring, Moderate Accuracy possible, Moderately Time Consuming
• Question Type: 
• Could be either grammar or vocabulary based
• Error may be based on Tenses, Subject-Verb Agreement, Article-Noun Agreement, Correct Part of Speech, Correct use of Prepositions, Phrasal Verbs, Easily Confusable Words, Contextual Usage, Sentence Construction, Degree of Comparison.

 Phrase Replacement/Sentence Correction

• Weightage: 0-5 Qs
• Moderately Scoring, Moderate Accuracy possible, Moderately Time Consuming
• Question Type: 
  • Mostly grammar based.
