UGC NET Eligibility Criteria | UGC NET Recruitment

In order to apply for UGC NET 2019, candidates will have to fulfill certain eligibility conditions. The eligibility is based on the academic qualification and age limit.

Qualification

Candidates should have a minimum of 55% in their PG or an equivalent from any recognized university.
Candidates who have a Master’s degree or equivalent from a university recognized by UGC can apply. Ph.D. candidates can also apply.
UGC NET offers an exemption to candidates from the Other Backward Classes (OBC)/ ST/SC categories for up to 50%.
NTA also permits students in the final year of the course to apply for the exam. Hence, candidates will be disqualified if they fail to secure the marks as indicated by the Board.
Also, there is a 5% of relaxation for Ph.D. degree holders in aggregate marks. Therefore, such candidates should have the Master’s degree examination which should be completed by 19th September 1991.

Age Limit

For Junior Research Fellowship, the upper age limit is 30 years as on 1st January 2019.
Also, there is no upper age limit for candidates for Assistant Professor’s post.
Furthermore, the relaxation in the upper age limit for OBC-NCL, SC, ST, PWD and women category will be 5 years.
Also, Relaxation is there for the research experience and LL.M Degree (3 years) holders.

UGC NET Selection Process 2019 | UGC NET Recruitment 2019 Notification

The UGC NET exam will consist of two steps- Paper I & Paper II for the selection of Assistant Professor and Junior Research Fellowship.

UGC NET Pay Scale

While candidates qualifying UGC NET for JRF will get a monthly stipend to pursue Ph.D. Existing UGC pay scale for Assistant Professors before the 7^thpay commission on entry level was around Rs. 47,000 and now it has been revised to be around Rs. 60,000.

The application fee determined by NTA varies according to the category of the candidate. Candidates can pay the fees in both online and offline mode.

Steps to Apply Online For UGC NET Examination

Step 1 – Visit the official website link of UGC NET i.e. ntanet.nic.in OR nta.ac.in

Step 2 – Click on the link related to “Apply for NET July 2019”

Step 3 – Go through the “New Candidate Registration” section.

Step 4 – Click on the “Apply for December 2018” option.

Step 5 – Read all the instructions carefully and click on “Proceed to Apply Online”

Step 6 – The authentication form will be opened on the screen.

Step 7 – Enter details like Nationality, State/UT which you belongs, Select Identification Type, Identification Number, Candidate’s Name, DOB, Gender, etc.

Step 8 – After filling the details, click on the “Submit” button.

Step 9 – Once the authentication process is done, candidates can proceed to fill the application.

Step 10 – Candidates have to fill all the required details in the application form.

Step 11 – After submitting the details, an Application Number will be generated.

Step 12 – Upload the scanned images of the latest photograph and signature in the prescribed format.

Step 13 – Now, pay the application fee through an online or offline method.

Step 14 – After completing the fee payment, candidates have to take the printout of the confirmation page and keep it safe.
