West Bengal Police Recruitment 2021

West Bengal Police Recruitment Board (WBPRB) have released a notification of the recruitment for filling the several vacant posts across the states. The vacant posts consist of Constable, Lady Constable, Sub-Inspector/Lady Sub-Inspector of Police (Unarmed Branch) and Sub-Inspector of Police (Armed Branch) posts. Those who are willing to apply for the recruitment can apply within the deadline.

All the eligible candidates can apply for the vacancy online through their official website or they can apply for the post via offline. The last date for WBPRB Recruitment 2021 Application is 20 February 2021.

The candidates who have submitted the online application form successfully within the deadline, will be called for WB Police Constable Prelims Exam or WB Police SI Prelims Exam. WB Police Pay Scale

The eligible candidate who passes all the eligibility criteria and gets suitable marks on the written exam, will be selected for the post and will be paid with the following details.

  • WB Police Constable Salary – Level-6 in the pay matrix (Rs. 22,700 – Rs. 58,500).
  • WB Police SI Salary – Pay Scale of Level – 10 in the pay matrix (Rs. 32,100 – Rs. 82,900).

Eligibility Criteria for WB Police Constable and SI Posts

Educational Qualification

To get selected for the post, the candidate has to meet the below eligible criteria.

For the post of Constable:

Madhyamik Examination from the West Bengal Board of Secondary Education or its equivalent.

SI of Police – Bachelor’s degree in any discipline from a recognized university or its equivalent.

Language

The applicant must be able to speak, read and write Bengali Language. However, this provision will not be applicable to the persons who are permanent residents of hill subdivisions of Darjeeling and Kalimpong Districts.

Age Limit

The age limit is also a necessary factor for the post.

Those who are applying for the post of Constable, the candidate must have the age between 18 to 27 Years.

Those who are applying for the post of SI of Police, the candidate must have the age between 20 to 27 Years.

WB Police Selection Process

To get selected for the post, the candidate must pass these selection procedures.

WB Police Constable Selection Criteria

Preliminary Written Test

This is a primary test that will be conducted for 100 marks. You have to answer 100 questions in 60 minutes. There is negative marking, ¼th of the allotted marks will be deducted for each incorrect answer.

Physical Measurement Test (PMT)

This will be conducted for those who passes the primary test will be selected for this test. It includes measuring of height, weight and chest of the candidates.

Physical Efficiency Test (PET)

This will be conducted for those who passes the Physical Measurement Test will be selected for this test. They are required to do 1600 meters run in 6 min and 30 sec.

Final Written Test

There will be 85 Objective Type Questions (MCQs) carrying 01 mark each. The duration of the examination will be 1 hour.

Interview

On the basis of the marks obtained in the Final Written Examination and the Interview, a merit list of the provisionally selected candidates will be prepared by the West Bengal Police Recruitment Board.

WB Police SI Selection Criteria

Preliminary Examination

This is a primary test that will be conducted for 200 marks. You have to answer 100 questions in 90 minutes. There is negative marking, ¼th of the allotted marks will be deducted for each incorrect answer.

Physical Measurement Test (PMT) & Physical Efficiency Test (PET)

This will be conducted for those who passes the primary test will be selected for this test.

Final Combined Competitive Examination

The Final Combined Competitive Examination will consist of three papers of conventional type of question of 200 marks.

Personality Test

This Personality Test is for 50 marks.Candidates’ ability to speak in Bengali will be tested in the Personality Test. The minimum pass mark for the personality test will be 08.

A candidate should pass these criteria. Otherwise, they will be eliminated from further selection process.

How to Apply for WB Police Constable SI Recruitment 2021?

  • Visit the official website @wbpolice.gov.in.
  • Login with username and password.
  • Click on the application form.
  • Fill the information and upload a scanned photograph and signature.
  • Payment of Application and/or Processing Fees can be made on-line through payment gateway by using Debit Cards/Credit Cards/Net-Banking of any Bank.
  • The offline Application Form must be downloaded using the website @wbpolice.gov.in.
  • Then you have to send the application form to the desired address.
