Physical Standards for Indian Navy SSR Recruitment –
- The Candidate should have the Visual Standard as set by the Indian Navy. Check the standard form here.

- Permanent Body Tattoos – Permanent body tattoos are only permitted on inner face of forearms i.e from inside of elbow to the wrist and on the reversed side of palm/ back (dorsal) side of the hand. Permanent body tattoos on any other part of the body are not acceptable and the candidate will be barred from recruitment.
- Minimum Height, Weight & Chest Expansion – The Male candidate should have a minimum Height of 157 cms and proportionate weight. The Minimum chest expansion of 5 cms is mandatory.
Candidates will be selected for Indian Navy SSR (Aug-2019) Recruitment on the basis of the order of merit on their performance in Computer-based Examination, qualifying Physical Fitness Test (PFT) and fitness in Medical Examinations.
The pay scale for the Indian Navy Senior Secondary Recruits post will be Rs. 14,600/- per month. On successful completion of initial training, they will be placed in Level 3 of the Defence Pay Matrix (Rs.21700- Rs.69100). In addition, they will be paid MSP of Rs.5200/- per month plus DA.
Individuals must pay the application fees for the Indian Navy SSR Exam. Also, the fee amount will depend on the individuals’ categories. So, Indian Navy SSR Recruitment Application fee for various categories are:
